What your donation gives to others:
The practice of Dance Our Way Home has touched the lives of hundreds of women over the past 10 years.
The Community Outreach component was initiated in the past year to bring the practice to even more women throughout the GTA, specifically those facing socio-economic, geographical, cultural barriers to access.
Through the Community Outreach initiative DOWH has become involved with organisations such as the North York Women’s Centre, Flemingdon Park Community Centre and the South Asian Women’s Centre and is involved in communication with other women’s serving agencies to bring DOWH into their communities. A Dance Circle for women who have had an abortion is also an initiative of the program, which is proving quite successful and aims to grow and touch more women.
By joining us and making a small donation, you can help ensure that we can continue such amazing, empowering programming and move towards our vision of truly making dance and the practice of DOWH available to all women!
And if you CAN NOT attend this evening event, PLEASE make a small donation below.
Thank you for your kindness!
Feedback from recent participants of Community Outreach programming:
“Just a little note to let you know how thoroughly I have enjoyed the Dance Our Way Home program with Twyla Kowalenko. I have never experienced anything like I have in this program. I look forward to attending any other program like this in the future.”
“This has been a precious opportunity to move, dance, express emotions, explore deeper into myself and explore possibilities I’m only just beginning to contemplate. Thank you Twyla!”
“I wasn’t quite sure what to expect and slightly nervous. But I was amazed at how natural the flow was. You brought us out of our shells and I am grateful for the experience. The partner dance was an incredible experience.”
